The Rise Up Ride: Day 45-48, Climbers' Ranch: Off the Grid

Date: 6-9 June 2021

Start Location: Climbers' Ranch

End Location: Climbers' Ranch

Distance: 0 km

The osprey's calls are my signal that it's time to get up to see the Grand Teton catch the very first rays of light as the Earth rolls upwards towards the sun. Those magnificent snowy spires towering above us can probably see the light cresting the Bighorns from way up there. The osprey nest, on a platform about two hundred meters across the meadow between Cabin 6 and the background rumble of the rushing Cottonwood Creek, is the best show on the air here at Climbers' Ranch. While it's impossible to discern the plot just yet, there seems to be some territorial issues over whose spot it is, or maybe it's just the local version of the kids coming home to visit. Nonetheless, the nest is the best entertainment here, off the grid.

My apps are all showing "3d" since they last connected. From time to time, when the wind blows right or a wrinkle in the stratosphere bounces the errant signal between a cell tower in Moose, some random message will vibrate my phone. "Yanks Rally Past Twins" is the only news that arrived this morning at 6:06 am. Great news, but what else?

Here are some photos from the week.
